Binance's account system has several "wallets" — Funding, Spot, Futures, Earn, and more. Many beginners buy USDT but can't see the balance on the trading page because the funds are in a different account and need to be transferred. Here's how to move funds between accounts. If you don't have a Binance account yet, register on Binance first.
Binance Account Types
| Account | Purpose | Fund Source |
|---|---|---|
| Funding Account | P2P trading, deposits, withdrawals | P2P purchases |
| Spot Account | Spot trading (buy/sell coins) | Transfer from Funding |
| Futures Account | Futures trading | Transfer from Spot/Funding |
| Margin Account | Margin trading | Transfer from Spot |
| Earn Account | Savings products | Transfer from Spot |
These accounts' funds are independent and don't auto-communicate. For example, USDT purchased via P2P goes to the "Funding Account." To trade on the spot market, you must first transfer it to the "Spot Account."
How to Transfer
On the App:
- Open the Binance app
- Tap "Assets" at the bottom

Common Transfer Scenarios
Scenario 1: Trade After P2P Purchase
USDT bought via P2P is in the "Funding Account." Path: Funding Account to Spot Account
Scenario 2: Start Futures Trading
You have USDT in Spot and want to trade futures. Path: Spot Account to Futures Account
Scenario 3: Cash Out Futures Profits
You profited in futures and want to cash out. Path: Futures Account to Funding Account (then sell via P2P)
Scenario 4: Deposit into Earn
Idle USDT to put in savings. Path: Spot Account to Earn Account (usually auto-completed when subscribing to an Earn product)
Key Features of Internal Transfers

FAQ
Q: Why does it say "Insufficient balance" when transferring?
Check these situations:
- Confirm you selected the correct source account
- Confirm the currency is correct
- Some funds may be frozen by open orders (e.g., an unfilled limit order freezes the corresponding funds)
- Funds in Earn products must be redeemed before transferring
Q: How do I unfreeze order-locked funds?
Go to "Orders" and cancel unfilled orders. The frozen funds will be released to the corresponding account.
Q: How do I move money out of the Earn Account?
The Earn Account doesn't support direct transfers to other accounts. You must "Redeem" the Earn product first — funds then automatically return to your Spot Account.
Q: Can I transfer directly from Funding to Futures?
Yes. While most people transfer to Spot first, Binance actually supports direct transfers between any two accounts.
Quick Tips
Tip 1: Universal Transfer
In the app's Assets page, there's a central "Transfer" entry that supports transfers between all accounts. No need to enter a specific account first.
Tip 2: Batch Transfers
If you need to transfer multiple currencies between accounts, you currently need to do them one by one — there's no batch feature.
Tip 3: Auto-Subscribe
If you frequently put idle USDT into flexible savings, enable "Auto-Subscribe." Idle USDT in your Spot Account auto-transfers to Earn, and auto-redeems when you need to trade.
Viewing Total Assets
To see your total assets across all Binance accounts:
- App, then Assets — the top shows total asset valuation
- Choose to display in BTC, USDT, or fiat currency
- Tap to see asset distribution across each account
Once you understand Binance's account system and transfers, you'll never be confused about "buying coins but not seeing them." Remember: transfers are free, instant, and available anytime.
