Waiting for a deposit that hasn't shown up on Binance is understandably stressful. But don't panic — most cases can be resolved. This article covers the various reasons and corresponding solutions. If you haven't installed the Binance app yet, download the Binance app to more easily check your deposit status.
First: Check Transaction Status
Before troubleshooting, do two things:
1. Check the Blockchain Explorer
Use your deposit address or transaction hash (TxID/TxHash) to look up the transaction:
- BTC: blockchain.com
- ETH/ERC20: etherscan.io
- TRC20: tronscan.org
- BSC/BEP20: bscscan.com
2. Check Binance Deposit History
In the Binance app: Wallet → Deposit → Deposit History — see if there's a record of your deposit.
Common Causes and Solutions
Cause 1: Insufficient Confirmations
Blockchain transactions need a certain number of block confirmations before crediting. Requirements vary by coin:
| Network | Confirmations Required | Approximate Wait |
|---|---|---|
| BTC | 2 | 20–60 minutes |
| ETH | 12 | 3–5 minutes |
| TRC20 | 20 | 1–3 minutes |
| BSC | 15 | 1–2 minutes |
Solution: Wait for confirmations to reach the required number. If the explorer shows confirmed but Binance hasn't credited, wait 15–30 minutes for auto-processing.
Cause 2: Network Congestion
BTC and ETH networks can get congested during high-volume periods, leaving transactions "pending" for extended periods.
Solution: Just wait. Some wallets support "transaction acceleration" (increasing gas fees) if you initiated the transfer.
Cause 3: Wrong Network Selected
This is the most common serious error. For example, sending USDT via ERC20 but using a TRC20 deposit address on Binance.
Solution:
- For EVM-compatible chain mix-ups (e.g., ETH and BSC), Binance may be able to help recover — submit a support ticket
- For completely different chains, recovery may be impossible
- Recovery usually involves a service fee
Cause 4: Missing Memo/Tag
Some coins require both an address and a Memo (or Tag) — such as XRP, EOS, XLM. If you only entered the address without the Memo, Binance can't auto-identify your deposit.
Solution: Contact Binance support with your transaction hash and account info — support can manually credit it.
Cause 5: Below Minimum Deposit Amount
Each coin and network has a minimum deposit. Amounts below the minimum won't be credited and can't be recovered.
Solution: Unrecoverable. Always check minimum deposit amounts in the future.
Cause 6: Deposited an Unlisted Token
If you sent an unlisted ERC20 token to your Binance ETH address, Binance can't recognize it.
Solution: If the token is later listed on Binance, it may auto-credit. Otherwise, contact support.
How to Contact Binance Support
- Open the Binance app
- Tap profile icon in the top left
- Select "Help & Support"
- Tap "Contact Support"
- Select "Deposit Not Arrived" category
- Provide:
- Transaction hash (TxID)
- Coin deposited
- Network used
- Amount
- Time of deposit
Prevention Tips
- Small test first: Always send a small test amount to new addresses
- Verify the network: Double-check that sending and receiving networks match
- Verify the address: Don't type addresses manually — use copy-paste or QR codes
- Fill in Memo: Always include the Memo for coins that require it
- Check minimums: Review minimum deposit requirements
How Long Should Deposits Take?
Under normal conditions:
- TRC20/BSC: 1–5 minutes
- ETH: 3–10 minutes
- BTC: 20–60 minutes
- Other chains: 5–30 minutes
If it's been over 1 hour, check the blockchain explorer to confirm transaction status, then contact support.
Summary
Most delayed deposits are due to insufficient confirmations or network congestion — just wait. For wrong addresses or networks, you'll need to contact support. Building a habit of doing small test transfers first prevents most deposit issues.
